Class Information
“Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.”
Mr. Rogers
St. David’s Day School welcomes children from 18 months old and supports them until they are ready for Kindergarten. Our program recognizes each child’s unique developmental differences and learning styles. With small class sizes and a low student-to-teacher ratio, we offer more personalized attention compared to typical daycare or childcare centers. While we maintain high educational standards, particularly those set by NAEYC, we ensure that children have enough time to practice and master what they learn before moving on to new concepts. We are thrilled to announce that we will be integrating Frog Street into our curriculum. Frog Street is a top provider of comprehensive early childhood education solutions. Their programs are designed to be joyful and evidence-backed and cater to childcare centers focusing on ages from birth to 5 years old. The curriculum is based on early brain research, providing intentional and age-appropriate instruction.
Toddlers and Twos
In our curriculum for toddlers and 2-year-olds, children will be immersed in a language-rich environment essential for developing both receptive and expressive language skills. This toddler curriculum includes high-interest books, stories, songs, poems, and chants that will amuse and delight toddlers. The activity choices in the physical development domain provide toddlers with fun physical challenges, action songs, and games that will build coordination, balance, and muscle strength. Cognitive development elements include engaging activities that support cause-and-effect relationships and problem-solving to develop foundational skills for lifelong learning.
Frog Street’s curriculum for toddlers and 2-year-olds is thoughtfully designed to prioritize the nurturing of social-emotional development, impulse control, and the growth of social skills to foster their confidence. Caregivers form meaningful and trusting connections with children through one-on-one interactions, partnerships, and small-group activities.
Threes
Frog Street Threes is a transformative preschool curriculum that caters to the individual needs of three-year-olds, offering purposeful instruction in key areas of development. At Frog Street, we celebrate the uniqueness of three-year-olds, recognizing their transition from parallel play to interactive engagement and the flourishing of their language capacity. They are embracing mobility and learning to demonstrate genuine affection and empathy towards their peers. Our tailored curriculum for 3-year-olds empowers children aged 36-48 months to progress confidently toward kindergarten readiness.
